If you have had your eyes tested in the last 2 years you can obtain a copy of your prescription from your local optician. By law they must provide this for you and can not charge for this service. If your prescription is over 2 years old you will need to be retested at your opticians.

If you need a new prescription take a look at the Money Saving Expert eye test deals for the latest deals which often includes free eye tests. Once you have an up to date prescription your reglaze order can proceed.

If you are unsure about entering your prescription you can upload a copy/photo of your prescription when you place your order or by emailing it to us after you place your order. We do not charge for this service and are happy to help you make sure it is entered correctly.
If you would like to enter the values yourself in our form the following information will guide you

1. SPH or SPHERE: component is the main correction

2. CYL or CYLINDER: component is the fine tuning, means you have astigmatism i.e. your eyeball is a rugby ball shape rather than a perfect sphere. Sometimes there will be a “DS” entered in this box. This simply means there are no values present for the CYL or AXIS.

3. AXIS: describes the direction of the cylinder component

4. ADD or NEAR ADDITION: reading part of your prescription

5. ADDITION INT: intermediate part of you prescription

6. When there is no prescription present there are a variety of ways this can be written. 0.00/pl/plano/infinity/number 8 on its side.

See how to read your prescription here

To ensure you do not make any mistakes when entering your prescription please make sure that you do not confuse (+) and (-) values.

Please enter the axis details exactly as written on your prescription. I.e. if prescription states 155 please do not enter 15.5

If you are in anyway unsure of your prescription details and how to enter the details simply call us on 03448 20 20 20 and you can speak to our optician or alternatively email/fax us a copy of your prescription and we will be able to assist you.

If there is any information written on your prescription that you are unable to enter on our prescription form simply enter the details in the “EXTRA INFORMATION” box.

We do not require the V/A numbers written down.eg. 6/6 as these numbers are not required when making up your glasses.

Please note that if your prescription has PRISM values written there is an additional small charge for this as we are required to use a more specialised lens. Please place your order as normal and we will contact you regarding the amount.

No. Your contact lens prescription may look the same as your spectacle prescription but they may have small differences. You must have an eye test and a prescription, issued for use with glasses, which is less than 2 years old to be able to order

Your PD (“pupillary distance’) is very easy to measure. It is simply the distance from the centre of one pupil to the centre the other (the pupil is the black spot in the middle of your eye). If this measurement is not on your prescription please call your opticians and they should give it to you. You can also easily do this for yourself, or even better, ask a friend! Most optical stores will measure it for you in under a minute at no cost. The default Distance PD is set to 63mm by our Dispensing Opticians. The default Near PD is set at 60mm and the default Intermediate PD is set at 61mm.

Here is a guide to measuring your PD.

According to law we can only make lenses from a prescription no older than 2 years so we can not only use your existing glasses to obtain your prescription.

We provide lenses for the vast majority of powers. If your prescription is stronger than the powers listed on the order form simply fill out the form to your best ability, entering any neccessary information in the any additional information box and we will contact you regarding the price.

Yes, prisms can be added to your lens but there may be an additional fee for the complex order. Please complete the order form so that we can see the prescription and lenses required and we’ll be in touch about any possible fee associated.

Generally, we recommend the lens package 3 if your sphere value is greater than -3/+3, or the lens package 4 if your sphere value is greater than -4/+4. Have you had a look at the Lens Options page? There is lots of helpful information on that page. You can also complete the order form and select the options you have questions about and we’ll call you back to discuss. Our staff are very knowledgeable on all the lens options and would be happy to help, contact us with any questions.

We can fit lenses to most frames that are not fully rimless. If the screws are damaged or we believe your frame would be damaged in the reglazing process we will return your frame at no cost. If you are unsure you can email photos of your frame to [email protected]

Yes, we do a range of tinted lenses from fully sunglasses with UV-400 protection to lightly tinted lenses. When placing your order please indicate on your order what tint you would like or place a note so that we can discuss this with you. We also offer Polarised sunglasses lenses as well as transition lenses (those that go darker in the sun)

If there is a tint that you have heard of it’s likely our lab can supply it!

Yes, these are available with or without prescription in a range of tint colours.

As default we use D28 Bifocal lenses as standard. These are 28mm wide ‘D-shaped’ segments that are positioned 3mm below the centre of the lens and horizontally are centered on your PD (Pupillary Distance). If you would like them positioned differently please state this on your order. We are able to supply all known seg sizes and types including Round, E-Style and Upcurve are available on request. Please add a note to your order or contact us to choose anything other than the default.

Yes, as long as your frame has sufficient depth for a varifocal lens we can fit them as varifocal.

Yes, many lens coatings are options on the order form. We have them listed on the lens options page however if there is something not listed that you would like please contact us as our lab can supply most lens coatings available or the nearest alternative.

We supply plastic lenses only, as they are lighter and more durable.

You’ll need an up to date prescription and then send your glasses to us for reglazing. That’s it!

We accept PayPal, credit card, cheques or bank transfers. Once your order form has been submitted we will be in touch to take payment.

Unfortunately, we do not accept NHS vouchers as payment. However we will still be better value than using this voucher at a high street optician.

Before your order is sent out to you, one of our dispensing opticians inspects each pair of glasses to ensure the accuracy of the prescription details. They are packaged in a hard case for protection. We offer a full 12 month guarantee on the lenses fitted.

We do FREE returns in the unlikely event of something not being quite right. Please contact us prior to returning your glasses so that we can authorise this.
